HAMADA D. ZAHAWI

Hamada Dara Zahawi is a bi-lingual attorney and entrepreneur, with a decade of experience working at the intersection of public policy, commercial law reform, and education advocacy. He has spent his career working with top international law firms, the U.S. government, and as a private sector entrepreneur. Hamada is also passionate about public speaking, having co-organized TEDxBaghdad (2011) and continues to train students, professionals, and public figures in the art of communication and personal branding. Hamada has given numerous talks and moderated panels throughout the world on international development, higher education, legal policy, travel, personal branding, among other topics of personal passion.

 

Previously, Hamada was an International Attorney-Advisor with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program. Through his work, Hamada advised numerous ministers, ambassadors, judges, bureaucrats, and business leaders among others to help promote trade and foreign investment throughout the MENA region. Through his work, Hamada received the Gold Medal for Distinguished Performance in Federal Service for promoting international arbitration in Iraq. Prior to the U.S. government, Hamada was in private practice, focusing on Project Finance, International Commercial Law, and Islamic/Middle East Finance.
